The Episcopal Church: Report summarizes TEC lawsuits, depositions, and canonical abuses |
|||||
A 29-page report released today by the American Anglican Council concludes that The Episcopal Church has “destroyed the rule of law and good order within its own polity, setting unjust precedents for all clergy.” According to an AAC press release, the report was prepared “at the request of several members of the Church of England's General Synod.” The CofE Synod, which meets several times each year, is scheduled to meet Feb. 8 - 12. At that time it is expected to consider a motion, introduced by member Lorna Ashworth, to recognise the Anglican Church in North America. The report is offered to those in other provinces who are at a disadvantage when trying to piece together the history of TEC’s actions. “The Episcopal Church is systematically targeting, intimidating, suing, and ultimately persecuting orthodox Anglicans thorughout the U.S.,” says Bishop David Anderson, President and CEO of the AAC.
