Plaintiffs’ attorneys file response in appellate court

On Tuesday, Jan. 19, a response to the diocese’s petition for writ of mandamus was filed in the Fort Worth Appellate Court; it contained nothing unexpected. The vast majority of its content had already been met by cogent argument and citations from authority in the petition. A short reply to the response will be filed with the court soon, pointing out why the response does not defeat the request for mandamus relief.

All proceedings in the case have been stayed since Nov. 16, 2009. The stay remains in effect until the appellate court issues its ruling.
